In his senior year, Beasley tallied 22.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.9 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game. This massive stat line helped him be named the Class 1A Player of the Year of Georgia, as well as All-State Class A First Team. He did so while teaming up with future Arizona Wildcats star Kobi Simmons. Following his high school career, Beasley was rated as a 4-star recruit. His top 5 schools were Florida State, UConn, UCLA, Wake Forest, and Oregon.

In his freshman year, Beasley tallied 15.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game on 29.8 minutes of play. He was then named to the ACC All-Freshman team. Malik Beasley was drafted with the 19th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets. Beasley’s stock crashed a bit prior to the draft due to an offseason surgery he had to repair a stress fracture in his right leg. He officially inked his name with the Denver Nuggets on August 9, 2016. Early on in the season, Beasley had trouble getting minutes with the Nuggets. His first big game came on November 10, where he tallied 12 points in just 15 minutes against the Golden State Warriors. Throughout his rookie year Beasley found himself being bounced back and forth between the Nuggets and their G-League affiliate Sioux Falls Skyforce. Beasley continued to have a subpar NBA career, but has begun to show growth as of late. Beasley had a breakout game against the Houston Rockets, scorching them for 35 points in a February 1, 2019 victory. On February 5, 2020, Beasley was sent to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a four-team, 12-player trade deal. Malik is currently a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
