High School Career (San Joaquin Memorial High School)

Brook Lopez played high school basketball at San Joaquin Memorial High School in Fresno, California. He played alongside his brother Robin Lopez and Quincy Pondexter, both fellow NBA players. Lopez also played AAU ball with his brother and Pondexter as well as Derrick Jasper and Tre’Von Willis.

College Career (Stanford)

Both Brook Lopez and his brother Robin elected to go to Stanford. Brook was named to the All-Pac-10 Freshman team. He averaged 12.6 points and 6 rebounds per game. During his sophomore season, he averaged 19.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.1 blocks and 1.5 assists per game. He was named to the All-Pac-10 First Team and All-American Third Team. After two seasons at Stanford, Lopez (both brothers), declared for the 2008 NBA Draft.

NBA Career

Brook Lopez was drafted 10th overall by the New Jersey News in the 2008 NBA Draft — five spots ahead of his brother Robin.

Lopez was selected to compete in the NBA All-Star Weekend Rookie Challenge. He finished third in the NBA Rookie of the Year standings and finished the season averaging 13 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game.

After playing in all 82 games in each of his first three seasons, Lopez broke his right foot during the 2011-2012 season and missed the first 32 games. After five games he injured his ankle and was shut down for the remainder of the season. Lopez signed a four-year, $61 million contract extension prior to the start of the 2012-13 season.

Lopez made his first All-Star game appearance during the 2012-2013 season. In December of 2013, Lopez injured his foot and missed the rest of the season. In July of 2015, Lopez re-signed with the Nets on a three-year deal. During the 2015-2016 season, Lopez became the Nets’ second-highest career scorer. The following season, he became the franchise's all-time leading scorer.

On June 22, 2017, Lopez was traded, along with the rights to Kyle Kuzma, to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for D’Angelo Russell and Timofey Mozgov.

On July 17, 2018, Lopez signed with the Milwaukee Bucks. He signed a four-year, $52 million contract with the Bucks following the 2019 season.
