Small and deadly and difficult to stop. He was the ulyimate scoring machine at Shattuck-St. Mary's (46 goals and 110 points) and at Christmas 2022 he had 22 points in 23 games in his rookie year in the USHL with the Youngstown Phantoms. Ia a former first overall choice in the USHL futures draft two years ago. Not tall or strong at this juncture but nonetheless he possesses the pure talent for scoring goals and significant upside if he can add the ingredients that nhl players must possess away for the puck. It will be up to him to get better at those details because his game is limited if he is not scoring or creating. There are countless videos of his quick hands and shot, but it difficult to overlook his size and wonder if he can play a 200 foot game in the NHL. I love the kid, but he's not Connor Bedard. He can line up anywhere at forwad because he plays offense. Whitelaw is set to attend the University of Wisconsin.
