Tomas Lavoie

The top selection in the 2022 QMJHL Draft looks like a future NHL horse who can develop into an offensive threat at the highest levels. Moves well in all directions and possesses above-average speed. He is fluid in his stop & starts and pivots well. He is enormous including his wingspan on the sheet. He is looked upon to be a future shut down defenseman. He lets one-timers rip like thunder and also has soft hands. A good passer who will quarterback the power play with surprising patience. The real developmental issue is whether he continues to raise his offensive side, or,  if he can raise his entire game or can he start excelling a few characteristics and qualities NHL scouting staffs find raise his over-all level of play.  I think he placed an emphasis on getting better in his own end, sacrificing his offensive gambits. Players with intriguing size and ability who show a 200 foot game can always develop their offensive sides and the "when/ when not to" the face out there.
