Shai Buium

Left shooting defenseman currently playing in Sioux City in the USH after starting as a Shattuck of St. Mary's. Displays good natural instincts and reactions as a defender in his decisions. Raw, but big and powerful, fluid in his pivots, and transitions, and in his stop/starts. Has a long reach. Maintains good gaps. Uses his big body in all phases special in front and on the wall pins. Is an excellent outlet passer in transition. When he gains possession ins end, he immediately scans for his outlet with his feet pointing up-ice.Has a hard and heavy point wrist shot, and good without the puck. Solid in all three zones. Sure, there is work to be done in his decision making and when he doesn't have the puck, but this looks like a strong developmental player who is committed to Denver University.
