Leo Sahlin Wallenius

Offensively skilled defenseman with hockey intelligence who keeps climbing in  the rankings as his game continues to round out. An excellent puck transporter quick feet and excellent mobility especially laterally. A power play point man who is a pin point passer and handles the blue walk well, opening scoring lanes, and can drive hard shots on net perfectly placed for deflections. Displays good gap control, and uses his quick stick deftly in winning  pucks in the corners. He did have some trouble handing the United States team attackers high pace attackers at the Five Nations Tourney, but also played three mistake free matches that was reminiscent of his earlier showings. He is the most skilled Swedish defenseman in this draft, loves the puck on his stick and rush deep into the attack zone, curl back and set up scoring looks. While carrying the puck out in transition, he handles forechecking pressure calmly, and Makes solid outlets passes. Plays with a distinct awareness of the surrounding ice. Will get stronger in his present tools as he gains more muscle.
