Mid-sized attacking defender with terrific skating acumen to eat up large patches of ice if given room to skate. Makes up for his size with creative offensive push. A terrific skater whose acceleration enables him in transition to sprint through the neutral zone. Takes his edging to the limit, and is a threat with his vision, feet and split second puck moving ability. His stop/starts in traffic to break up developing plays. He usually stays between the passing outlets to prevent long passes coming out to the neutral zone. Split second puck mover who can put together passing sequences. When there is no teammate who is an outlet, he flips passes to safe areas. Sprints down low on pinches, and drops passes into the slot. Many times he double clutches his shots to let the shot blockers slide by him. I think he starts the second tier of promising defenders.
