David Reinbacher

Surfaced on the scene as a legitimate prospect during Christmas 2021 at the abbreviated World Junior during Austria's two games. He currently is playing 20 minutes a game in Klopen in the Swiss league, and continues to build on the tools, and skill set that continue to improve exponentially. A mobile defender who can be an aggressive puck mover who stickhandle out of traffic. Plays 20 minutes a night in the Swiss pro league, and looks like an accomplished defender already. Does lack high end upside as an elite offensive attacker, and defensively, he lacks physical strength engage and slow puck carriers. That is not to say he is done improving. Already good on keeping attackers to the outside, and their planty of upside. He was sick at the beginning of the Winter 2023 World Junior Under-20, and was rock solid at his position when he did play, and showed good patience and consistently moved pucks to the correct places. He trusts his high end skating ability and keeps his gaps tight and presses forwards in coverage. He stands his ground on the blue line and aggressively challenges the puck carriers. A dark horse who no one thought of as a consideration as a first rounder, until now.
