As a junior at Coronado, Culver averages 20 points per game, helping his team reach the 6A regional semifinals. He earned the name of Lone Star Varsity Player of the Year following his junior season. Culver again showed improvement in the following year, averaging 30 points per game in his senior campaign. He was again named the Lone Star Varsity Player of the Year.
