This is a youngster that really wasn’t given many opportunities in the 2019-20 season on a veteran-laden squad, but showed his high end skill and creativity in the chances he did get, mostly as a right winger and not at his natural centre position he is used to playing. He is still a pass first forward who shows imagination and quickness, not unlike Matthew Barzal. Sees the ice very well and at very least ranks in then top dozen forwards in the league in regards to his skating. Very creative in his high speed set ups and needs to use his wrister more than he does. Needs to add muscle to his light frame. Solid on his pins, shows agility and nice edge work, and has nice acceleration, although not a top end blazer. Was a member of the Canada’s 2021 IIHF Under-18 World Championship team.
