Czech import with good offensive instincts, skills, and mobility. Won't stick out for flash and dash. Just solid defensive end execution and results. Really hasn't been given the power play opportunities behind Q veterans. Excelled in the World Junior U-20s when called upon to handle top pair minutes. Sees the ice well on the transition side and is sound moving the puck to the correct good offensive look. Mature two way defender who is calm and always on the ice at in close games. Plays bigger than he is and difficult to work against one on one. Plays under control with an active stick. Makes himself open for outlets. In the World Junior upset of the USA, he seemed to be the linchpin that keep his team together in the final period. Effectively handles the clears and carries in the crucial final minutes.
