Mature Russian centre with high skill set, hockey sense and warrior attitude. Wins a lot of puck battles because he is so strong and not afraid to attack the puck carriers, the front, and create scoring chance for his teammates and himself. Has good instincts so he is the right place at the right time a lot of the time. Does a nice job of holding and shielding the puck. Displays a hard wrist shot. His kid is developing rapidly and already plays with confidence, creativity and fearlessness. The downside is he skates knock-kneed and it affects his mobility and quickness on turns and crossovers. If you can get over his skating style, you chose this wildcard and are optimistic the offense continues developing.
