Matthew Savoie

 5' 10", but physically mature and thick bodied at 181 lbs. Has looked like the best NHL prospect in November & December 2021. Anybody see the CHL prospects game? And that goal he scored cutting to the front? He is Bobby Hull size (5'10" 180 ...oh how things have changed!) and plays with jam, and waltz around defenders with multiple pivots . He's an explosive skater, and someone who boasts an elite release but will also work his ass off to steal a puck. He displays jam on the wall, and his really sees the game well so he spends less time chasing the play by his reads. He is contantly finishing plays he started. He can place the puck for tap ins after he holds the opposing goalies tight to the side post firing he will tuck it in on them. Has high end vision, and the ability to lay hard cross ice passes while stopped, and when working the wall, he will defenders to school with toe-drags that to make escapes of to open ice on carries. He has a boatload of dekes, and strong pivots, and will drop his shoulder and make room from defenders. Displays fire and jam, and will use his stick against the opposing defenders. Savoie finished first overall in the event’s combine testing, with the fastest time in four different tests and a top-five score in six. There may be something  here that will flourish in the big leagues.
