The best draft eligible centre on the USA-National Development Team., currently a Freshmen at the University of Michigan. Was second on the USA developmental teams scoring in 2019-20. Opened eyes at the 2020-21 World Junior tourney U-20 with his dynamic three zone commitment noticeable on every shift. An excellent puck-handler and high end speedster who is equally comfortable as a set up offensive plays or finish them. Displays a strong shot and release. Very hockey smart, and uses his high IQ to finish and set up looks for his teammates. Has first step quickness and plays quick. Still not an optimal heavier playing weight which displays just how impressive his jump is at his current midsize 175 pounds. Has a very good shot and quick release. He is more of a shooter than possession type centre. He can be a one man show when the puck needs to transition out of his defensive zone, and is a dynamic up ice carrier, and impressive in his zone entires. Played left wing for a stretch. A smart responsible 200 foot player with a high hockey IQ who breaks up attacking plays, and fights to take pucks back. Not in over his head playing with collegians, at the University of Michigan, he still have room to fill out and even fill a role as a power forward. He might "project" as a scene line centre as an NHLer, but in my opinion, you are selling short to try and "tag" now. Besides displaying great offensive abilities and a quick release, this gritty super aware mover and shaker will turn the smallest error by the opposition into an opportunity it for his team, due to his quick stick, unending forecheck and hustle. Another player who is going make a GM if he is win the board.
