Son of Mats,a journeyman NHL forward, he is a terrific open ice skater who can open it up and act as the fourth forward. He is a strong student of the on ice play and watches the play down low in the attack zone, anticipating opportunities to jump in to the play. Skates head up money up-ice to scan what is in front of him. Has strong East-West lateral agility, with good footwork and jump. He has long legs and eats up space with his strides quickly. He is most willing to happily have puck touches in every shift. On the power play he is a very good puck distributer and gets great snap on his passes. NHL teams will feel secure with his bloodlines, his continued improvement as a defender and what he can already do with the puck on his stick.
