Large right shooting defenseman defense first rearguard who plays big minutes and usually against the opposition's best line(s). A shutdown defender who uses his body to win an inordinate amount of puck battles in the defensive zone. Excels at loose puck recoveries and will sacrifice his body as a shot blocker. He really isn't one dimensional as the scoresheets seem to indicate as he has good vision with the puck in the attack zone and also generates lots of offense through transition. After he wins the puck battle in his end, he head mans with sharp outlet passes.
