When watching the NFL, I marvel at the speed and co-ordination of the giant linemen. Hockey is not without a few of their own, and in Logan Mailloux, we have a very large man with fabulous co-ordination and glide, who plays an aggressive game, with near flawless positioning in his end. Let's not get ahead of ourselves and solidify his offensive upside, as he hasn't as of yet blossomed in the OHL with London (or with his Covid-19 loan team, SK Lejon), but his stay in the Greater Ontario Junior saw him put up 18 goals /68 points in 48 games and does have 18 points in 13 games in Sweden as of Feb.1st. What is certain is his long stride eats up ice and is able contribute in so many ways due to his great size/co-ordination and savvy. He is very aggressive in the offensive end with pinches, jump ups, and seals, but still manage this way back to defend from them with strong re-positioning. A full ice contributor who can accurately rocket passes through tine gaps to attacking forwards. His reach gets to many an errant pass, and his stick breaks up defensive zone passes as much as his aggression buries many puck carrier. Does have issues with his weight ballooning which a better conditioning regime will rectify. A long-term right handed developmental defender prospect who a team can select and wait for.
