Guillaume Richard

This Left defenseman is a Quebec native playing in the USHL. He has NHL potential but is a longer term project thus his later round projection. He has a strong unpolished toolkit that includes the more defensive refinement in his emerging two-way game. He plays in all situations, including the penalty-kill and power play, because he handles the biscuit with confidence. Using his reach, he can pick off pucks and quickly send them out in transition. He plays with and is able to create offense off the rush n the power play. Manages his gaps, and reads the situations on the ice well Displays ood North-South movement but has needed to improve his feet and pivots and defensive side, and start using is size and reach to his advantage. He has vastly improved now he is taking away time and space from the opposition, and using his stick effectively.  Was a member of the Canada’s 2021 IIHF Under-18 World Championship team.Committed to the University of Maine.
