Big solid Dub 2nd year eligible defender who continued to improve his game throughout the year. He is fluid in his movements and good at reading the ice and adjusting defensively. Plays it simple but in an aggressive manner that gives his guys opportunities. He doesn't rush things to make plays but eludes the forecheck in his end, and sticks to simple 'first pass and out' strategy for the most part. Good anticipation for how the ices is opening up. Pinches when he should and is a vocal leader for his team so they are ready for what is unfolding. Presently considered the number three on the Americans roster, he has started getting confidence in shooting the puck, winning puck races, and using his size. Additional time on the power play. If his feet continue to improve, he looks to have a chance as a keep-it-simple, third pair defender.
