A tad under six foot, but almost at 200 lb.s, this USA National Development Team winger who may be the purest goal scorers in junior hockey. A killer on the power play man advantage where he jumps off the half wall his stick cocked and loaded and will shoot the on-coming pass so well that at times the goaltender has no chance. He has superior hand-eye co-ordination and gets to pucks in scrums and buries them with little space or time. Also, don't be surprised when he anchors in front and tips them in, as his size allows him to bully his way in front. He has always been one of the most fit and muscle-matured and has put to rest any reservations that he may have peaked early as he continues to dominate all competitors man on man in the attack zone. His skating is high end and he can powerfully bull his way through traffic to the net. Plays a high end possession game using his strength and shielding the puck and the smartly deciding his options. Gets to the dirty areas with consistency to finish off plays. This kid can score from 40 feet out without anyone seeing the play and shot coming. He also has the wheels to bear down on the front ala Chris Kreider. As we reach February, there were pundits dropping him as he has yet to strengthen his back-up attributes to scoring, and needs work as strong all around contributor who works for the team besides himself. We can call it a bit of immaturity, but I think each game's highs and lows affect him, and he doesn't hide disappointment and he reacts. I certainly would have a tough time passing on him, even for a giant defenseman, or a giant WHL centreman.
