North Bay lost core players this season and were excepted to take a step back, but right wing Romani has given the Battalion reason they have a chance this year. Not the flashiest, fastest, or biggest guy, who has fantastic touch and instincts and is one of the hottest scorers in the OHL. There was some buzz last season with 23 goals and 43 points, but the fact that he wasn’t playing against the oppositions top pairings gave many scouts pause. He is presently one of the top goal scores in the O. In his first 38 games has registered 61 points, one off the league lead. A right wing-centre who has exploded in this his second year of eligibility, and was leading the OHL in scoring with 38 goals and 73 points. His offensive success probably can be attributed to his high hockey IQ, great vision, and quick release. He is strong on board battles and will rapidly release down to give his defense an out when the regain the puck in transition. He uses his hands in the tight spaces with a deke or a quick shot to the top corners. He is longer the one dimensional scorer we viewed last year; he has develop into a well rounded player whose are constantly moving, and is excellent in distributing the puck especially when he pulls extra defender to him, and dishes to his teammates. Backchecks hard and goes right to the house.
