Tyler Boyd is a wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals. A Pittsburgh native, Boyd played high school football at Clairton before playing his college football at Pittsburgh. In high school, Boyd won four state titles in four seasons, losing just one game in that span. Now in the NFL, Boyd has supplanted A.J. Green as the Bengals’ top receiver. In 2015, his junior season, Boyd once again recorded 85 receptions but this time for just 926 yards. However, he had his best rushing season as he ran the ball 35 times for 294 yards. In three seasons, Boyd totaled 3,826 rushing and receiving yards and 22 combined rushing and receiving touchdowns.
After his junior season, Boyd elected to forgo his senior season and enter the 2016 NFL Draft. The Cincinnati Bengals selected Boyd with the 55th overall pick in the second round.
Starting his career as the Bengals’ third receiver, Boyd finished his rookie season with a respectable 54 receptions for 603 yards and one touchdown. In 2017, Boyd played in just 10 games due to injury. He finished with just 22 receptions for 225 yards.
2018 was a breakout season for Boyd. His first year as a full starter, Boyd played and started in 14 games before suffering a season ending knee injury. He totaled 1,028 yards on 76 receptions. He also had a career high seven touchdowns.
In 2019, Boyd signed a four-year extension with the Bengals and he rewarded them with his best season of his career. Boyd had 90 receptions for 1,046 yards, both new career highs. In 2020, Boyd is leading the Cincinnati receiving group as the team’s top wide receiver.
Tyler Boyd signed a four-year contract extension with the Bengals in 2019. The deal was worth $43 million and will keep him under contract through 2023. He is set to earn $4.2 million during the 2020 season. Boyd has an estimated net worth of $20 million.
