Robby Anderson is a wide receiver in the National Football League who plays for the Carolina Panthers. Given his slender build and the quality of quarterback play around him, Anderson has embodied doing more with less throughout his time in the league. The results have been some of the best play at his position the NFL has seen while he has been active.
Robby Anderson played his high school football at South Plantation High School in Plantation, Florida. Despite his current status as a star in the NFL, Anderson’s high school career wasn’t all that impressive, comparatively speaking. He was only a three-star recruit coming out of college with offers from Indiana, Illinois and Temple as the most high-profile he received. He decided to go to Temple.
At Temple University, Anderson had an on and off career to say the least. He started out as a special teams player, but earned a shot at playing wide receiver when Matt Rhule took over as head coach. Anderson rewarded Rhule with nine receiving touchdowns in his sophomore season. After missing his junior year due to academic issues, Anderson returned for his senior season and caught 70 balls and seven touchdowns.
Robby Anderson went undrafted in 2016, with his inconsistent collegiate career not resulting in any teams picking him in the draft. Anderson ended up signing a three-year, $1.36 million deal with the Jets that offseason as an undrafted free agent. In four years with the Jets, he caught at least 40 balls per season and had at least five touchdowns in each of his final three years in New York. He joined the Carolina Panthers in 2020 and immediately surpassed his career high in catches for a season.
Robby Anderson signed a two-year, $20 million deal with the Carolina Panthers in 2020. By the time he plays through that contract, he will have earned a total of $24 million in his career through six seasons in the league. To this point, Anderson has yet to land any high-profile endorsements, which could change as he continues to push the limits of what he can do as a wide receiver.
Robby Anderson is the son of Jason Anderson and Kim Schubert. He has publicly praised his mother for working as hard as she did to provide for him as a child. He is currently in a relationship with Sade. To this point, Robby Anderson has not had any children of his own.
