Rashard Higgins is a wide receiver who is a free agent in the National Football League, who last played for the Cleveland Browns in 2020. Higgins had become a big play threat during his time with the Browns, making several long-distance catches to keep his offense moving as a part of a loaded Cleveland receiving corps.
Rashard Higgins attended Mesquite High School in Mesquite, Texas. He played football, basketball and ran track during high school. After a senior season where he recorded 10 touchdown receptions, Higgins selected Colorado State to play his college football.
At Colorado State University, Higgins set a school freshman record by pulling in 68 passes in his first season with the team. As a sophomore, Higgins was a Biletnikoff Award finalist as one of the top receivers in the country. In that year, he had 96 catches for 1,750 yards and 17 touchdowns. After his junior year, Higgins opted to enter the NFL Draft.
The Cleveland Browns selected Rashard Higgins in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. In two of his last three seasons, Higgins amassed at least 500 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns. He made his postseason debut in 2020, racking up 116 yards in two postseason games in that campaign.
Rashard Higgins is currently an unrestricted free agent. He originally signed a four-year contract worth just over $2 million with the Browns. That contract carried a signing bonus of $184,000. He signed a one-year deal with the Browns before his fifth year on the team.
Rashard Higgins is the son of Robert Higgins Jr. and Jeanette Jackson, and he has one brother and one sister. Higgins does not appear to be in a relationship at this time and does not have any children to this point.
