Michael Gallup is a wide receiver who plays for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. Gallup has proven to be an explosive weapon in the passing game for the Cowboys over the course of his career. He has been a huge addition for an offense that has been among the best in the league during his time there.
Michael Gallup went to Monroe Area High School in Monroe, Georgia. He played quarterback there for a team that ran the triple option. In his senior year, Gallup played wide receiver and running back, scoring 17 total touchdowns. Gallup also ran track, played basketball and played baseball.
Gallup started his college career at Butler Community College, where he scored 12 touchdowns in two years. He then transferred to Colorado State University, where he scored 14 touchdowns in his first year with the Rams. As a senior, he made school history with the first 100 catch season in the history of the program. He finished his collegiate career with a 60 yard game in the Senior Bowl, followed by a 4.51 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Michael Gallup started his professional career by being drafted in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. Gallup has had at least 33 catches in each of his first three seasons with the team. His most productive year was 2019, where he caught 66 balls for 1,107 yards and six touchdowns from Dak Prescott.
Michael Gallup signed a four-year, $3.5 million deal with the Dallas Cowboys in 2018. He enters the final year of that deal in 2021, after which he will become an unrestricted free agent. It is expected that Gallup will earn a bigger contract following this season.
