Jarvis Landry is a wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns. Born in Convent, Louisiana, Landry was a three-sport star at Lutcher High School. Considered one of the nation’s best wide receivers in high school, Landry elected to attend local powerhouse LSU. After exploding his junior season, Landry entered the 2014 NFL Draft where he was selected in the second round by the Miami Dolphins. Through seven NFL seasons, Landry has made five Pro Bowls. Through his first six seasons in the NFL, his 564 career receptions were an NFL record for a player in their first six seasons.
Jarvis Landry attended Lutcher High School in Lutcher, Louisiana. Landry was a three-sport star in football, track and basketball. He finished his high school football career with 241 receptions, 3,902 yards and 50 touchdowns. He also ran for 875 yards and 14 touchdowns. Landry was considered a five-star recruit and was considered one of the best receivers in the country.
Landry decided to attend local powerhouse LSU. As a true freshman, Landry caught just four passes for 43 yards. In his sophomore season, Landry led the team with 56 receptions for five touchdowns despite only starting in one game. He was also second on the team with 573 receiving yards.
In his junior season, Landry made a name for himself. He finished his third season with 77 receptions for 1,193 yards and 10 touchdowns. Landry elected to forego his senior season and enter the 2014 NFL Draft.
Landry was drafted in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft with the 63rd overall pick by the Miami Dolphins. In his rookie season, Landry was a major contributor for the Dolphins. He finished his first NFL season with 84 receptions for 758 yards and five touchdowns.
In his second NFL season Landry eclipsed the 1000-yard receiving mark. He finished year two with 110 receptions for 1,157 yards and four touchdowns. At the time, his 194 receptions were an NFL record for a wide receiver in their first two seasons.
In 2016, Landry followed up his first career 1000-yard season with another 1000-yard season, totaling 1,136 yards. In 2017 Landry caught a career-high 112 passes for 987 yards and a career-high nine touchdowns. In 2018 he would just miss the 1000-yard mark again by totaling 976 yards.
Landry recorded his third 1000-yard season in six years in 2019. Through six seasons, Landry had an NFL record 564 career receptions through a player’s first six years in the NFL. 2020 was the first season Landry didn’t play in all 16 games of the regular season, missing one. He finished with 72 receptions for 840 yards.
Jarvis Landry signed a five-year deal worth $75.5 million in 2018. Through seven NFL seasons, Landry has earned over $64 million. Landry has endorsements with Nike, TCL, Rally Health, Sprayground and Ethika. He has an estimated net worth of $20 million.
Growing up, Landry was raised by his mother Dietra after his father skipped out on his family. Eventually, Landry went to live with his football coach as his mother felt it was safer for him. Landry has an older brother Gerard who also played wide receiver in college. He is also cousins with defensive lineman Glenn Dorsey. Landry has a son and a daughter with his girlfriend Estrella Cerqueira.
