Evan Engram is a tight end who plays for the New York Giants in the National Football League. Engram fits in with the recent trend of hyper-athletic tight ends who can play both on the line and split out as a receiver. His speed and size make him a difficult cover no matter who is lined up across from him on a play.
Engram played his high school football at Hillgrove High School in Powder Springs, Georgia. His performance in high school drew attention from high-profile collegiate programs, with Engram choosing to play his college football in the SEC for Ole Miss.
At Ole Miss, Engram played four years and averaged over 14 yards per catch during that time. As a senior in 2016, Engram reeled in eight touchdowns and had 926 receiving yards. He earned all-SEC honors for that year, being named to the all-SEC first team. He also won the Ozzie Newsome Award as the nation’s best tight end.
Engram played in the all star Senior Bowl at the end of the 2016 season. He then turned heads with his NFL Scouting Combine performance, running a 4.42 second 40-yard dash. He opted not to do anything outside of tight end drills at Ole Miss’ pro day, and was a projected first or second round pick after his performances in those events.
Evan Engram was selected with the 23rd overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft by the New York Giants. As a pro, Engram collected 14 total touchdowns in his first year in the league. He has helped stretch the field for a New York Giants offense that has attempted to establish a new identity in the years following the acquisition of Engram.
Evan Engram signed a four-year, $10.7 million deal with the New York Giants in 2017. That deal included a signing bonus of $5.9 million. He will look to prove himself in the final year of his rookie contract to earn a bigger contract in the future.
Evan Engram is the son of Michele Zelina and Derrick Engram. He has one sister, Mackenzie Engram. At this time he is not thought to be in a relationship and he does not have any children to this point.
