CeeDee Lamb is a rookie wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys. Lamb was born in Opelousas, Louisiana. He grew up in New Orleans before moving to Houston due to Hurricane Katrina. Lamb played college football at Oklahoma, playing with quarterbacks Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, and Jalen Hurts. He was drafted by the Cowboys in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Lamb attended John and Randolph Foster High School in Richmond, Texas. He became a standout wide receiver his junior year when he had 57 receptions for 1,082 yards and 11 touchdowns. His senior season, he put himself on the national map when he finished with 98 receptions for 2,032 yards and 33 touchdowns. His 2,032 yards was the fourth most in the history of Texas and his 33 receiving touchdowns were tied for second-most in state history. Lamb also had three punt returns for touchdowns.
A four-star recruit out of high school, Lamb committed to Oklahoma prior to the start of his senior season in high school. In his freshman season, Lamb played with Baker Mayfield as his quarterback. He played in all 14 games and finished with 46 receptions for 807 yards (Oklahoma freshman record) and seven touchdowns.
In his sophomore season, Lamb ended up playing for what would be his second-straight Heisman winning quarterback, Kyler Murray. Lamb again played in all 14 games and this time finished with 65 receptions for 1,158 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Lamb’s junior season was his best statistical season. This time, he played with quarterback Jalen Hurts. Lamb finished the year as a first-team All-American. He finished with 62 receptions for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns. Lamb was a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, which is given to the best wide receiver in the nation. He elected to skip his senior season and enter the 2020 NFL Draft.
Lamb was drafted with the 17th overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. Lamb made his NFL debut on Sunday Night Football in Week 1, finishing with five receptions for 59 yards. He followed it up with his first career 100-yard receiving game in Week 2 when he posted 106 yards on six receptions.
Lamb caught his first NFL touchdown in Week 4 against the Cleveland Browns when he finished with two touchdowns. Playing alongside Amari Cooper, Lamb and Cooper appear to be one of the league’s best wide receiver duos in the NFL.
After being drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 2020, CeeDee Lamb signed his four-year rookie deal worth $14.01 million. He is set to earn $610,000 in 2020 after getting a nearly $2 million signing bonus for each of his four seasons. Lamb has an endorsement deal with Nike as well.
