Cam Akers played high school football at Clinton High School in Clinton, Mississippi. In his senior year, he put up over 2,000 rushing yards and 3,000 receiving yards with 65 total touchdowns. He was named the MS Gatorade Player of the Year for that season, was an All-American and was a five-star recruit. He chose Florida State for his collegiate career.
At Florida State, Akers played for three seasons and averaged over 10 total touchdowns a year. He enjoyed two 1,000 yard rushing seasons, and was one of the true bright spots of a Florida State team that struggled in the ACC in his career. Akers was an all-ACC selection in his freshman and junior years.
Cam Akers was drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams. In his first season in the league, Akers ended up with over 150 touches and scored three total touchdowns. He helped the Rams get to the playoffs in his rookie season, with the Rams beating division rivals Seattle in the first round.
Cam Akers signed a four year, $6.1 million deal with the Los Angeles Rams in 2020. He enters the second year of that deal in the 2021 season, and will look to perform well enough on the field to warrant a lucrative extension.
