Strengths: Upshaw is a very balanced overall big man, and he has a lot of potential with his enormous 7’6” wingspan. He can score in the post and he rebounds at a decent clip. Upshaw’s biggest advantage over other prospects is his insane shot-blocking ability, as shown by his 4.5 blocks per game stat from last year.
Weaknesses: It’s the mental aspect of Upshaw’s game, along with a few mechanical flaws, that are scaring teams away. He has a history of off-court issues, and he is not exactly the smartest player in the pool. That being said, a team will certainly take a shot on his insane potential and raw talent to try to turn him into an NBA stud.
