Strengths: Prior to tearing his meniscus in early February of last year, Vaughn was showing Las Vegas how to score the basketball. Whether it’s creating space for a jumper or fluidly carving through the lane to get to the rim, the 18-year-old can score. He’s also athletic and has good size for the shooting guard position, and obviously has a ton of upside to improve his overall game.
Weaknesses: As you’ll find with a lot of young scorers, Vaughn doesn’t have the greatest decision-making skills in the world. This flaw affects his shot selection at times as well as his proneness to turnovers. Long story short, he just wants to score all the time. Obviously, this doesn’t bode well for an NBA player. However, his draft stock could shoot up if a team loves his skill set and upside enough.
