Strengths: McCullough’s freshman year was cut short due to a knee injury, but he showed true potential in his limited time with Syracuse last year. He’s extremely athletic and quick for a big man, which makes him great in the transition game. He is continuing to improve an already decent jump shot, and he can get high above the rim on the drive. McCullough is a great rebounder thanks to his length and leaping ability, and has a great skill set for an athletic big man.
Weaknesses: McCullough’s biggest challenge in his transition to the NBA will be improving his mass and his inside post ability. His shot selection and jump shot consistency are not NBA-ready yet, and he can get too aggressive at times. There are plenty of skills that need fine-tuning, and his injury last year didn’t help his stock.
