Jay was not drafted out of high school due to the lack of substance to his game and smaller frame. Yet his mid-to-upper 90’s fastball and off-speed pitches now have scouts looking at him as a starting pitcher. Jay was fantastic with USA Baseball going 2-0, 0.00 ERA, and one save, while striking out 21 and walking only 6. His competitiveness and short-term memory have scouts excited to try him out in different pitching roles.
