Matuella’s combination of size and stuff is arguably the best in the ACC. However injury troubles in the past, including Tommy John surgery this April, might hold him back. He sports a mid-to-upper 90’s fastball, a good curveball, and an average slider that helps him get batters out. He has a strong frame that adds power to his fastball and creates a plane for his breaking balls.
