Who are the top prospects in the 2024 WNBA Draft?

1. Caitlin Clark - Guard, Iowa

is undoubtedly the biggest name in the 2024 WNBA Draft. The Iowa Hawkeyes superstar has been a dominant force in college basketball over the last few years, earning numerous accolades and breaking records along the way. In the 2023 NCAA Tournament, Clark led Iowa to the national championship game, averaging an incredible 27.8 points, 8.6 assists, and 7.1 rebounds per game. Her performance earned her the Final Four Most Outstanding Player award and solidified her status as one of the best players in the country.

2. Cameron Brink - Center, Stanford

Cameron Brink, a defensive stalwart for Stanford, averaged 14.9 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 3.4 blocks per game. She has been named the best big in the country throughout the season by some of women’s college basketball's biggest experts.

3. Rickea Jackson - Forward, Tennessee

Touted as the best wing in this year's draft class, Jackson averaged over 20 points a game for the Volunteers while shooting over 48% from the floor. Combined with 8.2 RPG it’s easy to see why this 6 ’2 forward should land within the top 5 draft selections.

4. Angel Reese - Center, LSU

Angel Reese has been in the headlines throughout the season, helping to lead the LSU Tigers to the Final Four where they fell short against Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Reese averaged 23.0 points and 15.4 rebounds per game in her sophomore season and has been a key piece throughout the year.

5. Camilla Cardoso - Center, South Carolina

The 2024 WNBA Draft class is stacked with some of the best centers the college game has seen in recent years and – and Camilla Cardoso might be the rawest one. The 6-foot-7 22-year-old Brazilian helped lead the South Carolina Gamecocks to an undefeated season, capturing the National Title against Caitlin Calrk and Iowa by a final score of 87-75.

As of now, the Indiana Fever hold the top pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, followed by the Minnesota Lynx and the Dallas Wings. Many mock drafts have the Fever selecting Caitlin Clark with the first overall pick, which would make her the first player from Iowa to be selected #1 overall in the WNBA Draft.

Other potential lottery picks include Angel Reese, Cameron Brink, Tennessee forward Rickea Jackson, and South Carolina center Kamilla Cardoso. The Chicago Sky and Dallas Wings also hold multiple first-round picks, which could make for some interesting draft-day trades.

Will Caitlin Clark be the #1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft?

Caitlin Clark's draft stock has never been higher, and for good reason. She has consistently proven herself to be one of the best players in the country, and her performance in the 2023 NCAA Tournament only solidified her status as a top prospect. Many analysts believe that Clark is a generational talent and that she has the potential to be a franchise-changing player in the WNBA.

However, there are other top prospects in the draft who could also make a case for the #1 overall pick. Angel Reese's size and athleticism make her an intriguing prospect, while Cameron Brink's defensive prowess could be a valuable asset for any team.

Ultimately, the decision will come down to the preferences of the team with the #1 overall pick. The Indiana Fever are in rebuilding mode and could use a player like Clark to build their franchise around. However, they may also be tempted by the potential of other top prospects like Reese or Brink.
