Illinois

Illinois legalized online sports betting in June 2019, but first required customers to create their sportsbook accounts at the online sportsbooks’ retail locations. DraftKings Sportsbook partnered with Casino Queen to open their Illinois retail location in August 2020. Illinois no longer requires customers to create their accounts in-person at retail sportsbooks. DraftKings is regulated by the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission. In Iowa, tribal governments regulate gambling on their lands. Some have not yet granted a license to DraftKings, so there are tribal lands in Iowa where DraftKings is not available.

Kansas

Kansas legalized sports betting in September 2022, making it one of the latest states to legalize sports betting. DraftKings launched in Kansas in September 2022, and has one retail location at Boot Hill Casino in Dodge City, Kansas. DraftKings in Kansas is regulated by both the Kansas Lottery and the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission.

Louisiana

Louisiana legalized sports betting in November 2021. DraftKings Sportsbook launched in Louisiana in January 2022 and opened a retail location at the Golden Nugget Lake Charles Casino. You can’t place bets with DraftKings in all of Louisiana. DraftKings is not live in the parishes of Union, West Carroll, Jackson, Caldwell, Franklin, Winn, La Salle, Catahoula, Sabine, and Jackson. The Louisiana Gaming Control Board regulates DraftKings in Louisiana.

Maryland

DraftKings Sportsbook launched on November 23, 2022, on the day sports betting was legalized in Maryland. As of now, DraftKings has no retail locations in Maryland, but online betting is available via the DraftKings website or mobile app accessed anywhere in the state. DraftKings is currently operating on a 10-year license issued by the Maryland Lottery & Gaming Control Agency.

Michigan

Michigan legalized sports betting in December 2019. DraftKings Sportsbook launched online one month later. DraftKings is partnered with Bay Mills Resort & Casino and is licensed through Bay Mills Resort & Casino with the Michigan Gaming Control Board. There is no retail DraftKings Sportsbook location in Michigan yet.

Mississippi

Mississippi legalized in-person sports betting in 2018. Online sports betting is still illegal in Mississippi. You can bet with DraftKings at their retail sportsbook located in the Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort in D'Iberville, Mississippi.

New Hampshire

DraftKings is an official partner of the New Hampshire Lottery which also licenses DraftKings in the state. DraftKings launched its sportsbook in New Hampshire in December 2019. DraftKings’ retail sportsbooks in New Hampshire are located at the Brook Casino in Seabrook and the Filotimo Casino in Manchester.

New Jersey

DraftKings Sportsbook’s first retail location and online sportsbook launched in New Jersey shortly after sports betting was legalized in 2018. DraftKings’ retail location is located in the Resorts Casino in Atlantic City. DraftKings is regulated by New Jersey’s Division of Gaming Enforcement.

New York

New York’s sports betting markets opened in January 2022, and DraftKings Sportsbook was one of the first to launch that same month. DraftKings has one retail location in Seneca, New York at the Del Lago Resort Casino. DraftKings in New York is regulated by the New York State Gaming Commission. 

Ohio

Ohio’s legal online sports betting markets opened in January 2023. DraftKings launched in Ohio at that time. This makes Ohio one of the latest states where DraftKings operates an online sportsbook. Oregon

Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania legalized sports betting in 2018. DraftKings Sportsbook launched in Pennsylvania in November 2019 under the casino license of Penn National Gaming and operates a retail sportsbook at Penn National Gaming’s The Meadows Casino in Washington, PA. The Gaming Control Board regulates DraftKings and Penn National Gaming in Pennsylvania. 

Tennessee

Tennessee legalized sports betting in May 2019. DraftKings became available in Tennessee in November 2020 as an online sportsbook and casino. Plans are in the works to open a retail location in Nashville. It operates under a direct mobile license with the Tennessee Lottery. DraftKings in Tennessee is licensed and regulated by the Tennessee Sports Wagering Advisory Council.

Virginia

Virginia legalized sports betting in April 2020 and opened its sports betting market through the Virginia Lottery. DraftKings launched in Virginia in January 2021 through a partnership with the Virginia Lottery, which licenses and regulates DraftKings in the state. There are no retail DraftKings locations in Virginia.

Washington

Washington partially legalized sports betting in March 2020. The state legalized in-person and online sports betting exclusively at tribal casinos and on tribal lands. DraftKings has partnered with the Tulalip Resort Casino and Quil Ceda Creek Casino and has a retail sportsbook at each casino. The Washington State Gambling Commission as well as the relevant tribal governments regulate DraftKings in Washington.

West Virginia

Somewhat surprisingly, West Virginia was one of the first states to legalize sports betting, doing so in March 2018. DraftKings Sportsbook launched in West Virginia in August 2019. DraftKings operates its online sportsbook and casino in the state as well as a retail sportsbook at the Hollywood Casino in Ranson, West Virginia. Wyoming

Wyoming legalized sports betting in April 2021. DraftKings Sportsbook launched its online sportsbook and casino in Wyoming in September 2021. As of now, there are no retail DraftKings locations in Wyoming. DraftKings in Wyoming is regulated and licensed by the Wyoming Gaming Commission.
